From a Stranger to Strangers
(2025 — in progress)
For years, I documented my own experience in cities that were, at first, completely unfamiliar to me. Walking through their streets, parks, and everyday spaces gradually became a way of getting to know them, but also a way of observing the people who inhabit them.
My series offers a look at these quiet encounters with strangers. People who appear in front of my camera for a few seconds and then continue with their lives as I go on my way. A man sitting alone on a bench, a couple talking, someone walking through a park, or simply a person occupying a space.
I am not interested in telling their stories or imagining who they are. What interests me is that brief moment when our lives cross without us ever getting to know one another. They are strangers to me, and I am a stranger to them.
Over time, these encounters began to form a kind of personal archive. Small everyday moments that, taken together, speak of solitude, companionship, distance, and the way we share the same spaces without necessarily knowing one another.
From a Stranger to Strangers is, in a way, a record of that process: arriving in a place feeling like a stranger and gradually finding, among so many strangers, a quiet connection with the place and with the people who inhabit it.
