Towards Winter
September, 2026
Gagarin Park is located near where I live. It is a recreational space with amusement rides and attractions during the summer. I discovered it shortly before the arrival of winter, while walking through the city with my camera.
Among the children, families, and adults enjoying the park, I began to think about the stereotype of Russians as serious and reserved people. Observing them in this everyday setting, that idea seemed too simplistic. There is also joy, playfulness, and spontaneity, although these may not always be the first things people associate with Russians.
This series is an observation of one of those moments, just before winter.
